Kaysie Smashey is a proud Texan! Born and raised in El Paso, Kaysie competed in sports her entire life, learning the importance of hard work, discipline, commitment, and working with a team. When the time arrived, Kaysie chose tennis and excelled at the highest level, winning three Texas state high school championships, four national championships, and a professional tournament while in high school. She received the Sunturian Female Athlete of the Year Award of El Paso after being voted as the best female high school athlete. She was recruited and competed on the University of Texas at Austin women's tennis team on a full scholarship for four years, earning Academic All-American status and multiple All-Big 12 Conference First Team Awards. Kaysie graduated with University Honors with a degree in Marketing from the McCombs School of Business. She was inducted in the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. Following collegiate tennis and her graduation from business school, Kaysie pursued a career on the WTA professional tennis tour for three years, reaching a world ranking of 146 before a shoulder injury changed her career path. She has won four professional tournaments, 20 national titles, and won the world championships, reaching a ranking of #1 in the world in her age division. She moved to west Texas where she called San Angelo home for thirteen years, working as the head tennis professional at Bentwood Country Club. While in San Angelo, Kaysie discovered her love for real estate, investing and renovating several homes of her own. She began her real estate career in San Angelo, helping others find their first home, investment home, and/or forever home. Kaysie is a member of the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR), Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The skills that Kaysie developed as an athlete has provided her with the tools to beat the competition. Her business knowledge, attention to detail, and enthusiastic personality has helped her guide and help numerous clients to a stress less and exciting home buying experience. Kaysie decided to move to Houston, saving the best for last! Both siblings, parents, and most extended family are Houstonians and she wanted to join the party. Midst this excitement, since 2006, she earned the respect and trust of her clients, always displaying integrity and grit for her clients. In her free time, you can find her playing and coaching tennis at the Houston Racquet Club, golfing, playing with her five nieces and one nephews and spending time with her golden retriever, Charlie, or looking for Mr. Right!
